MEDIC EMS, founded in 1982 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Service who provides a wide array of services that includes both emergency and non-emergency ambulance transportation, dispatching, and electronic patient care record hosting services.
Headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, MEDIC EMS is foundational to the community, serving a population base of approximately 175,000 people. MEDIC’s primary 911 ambulance coverage area is approximately 375 (or 82%) of Scott County’s 456 total square miles, and in addition to 911 emergency ambulance transportation, MEDIC EMS provides non-emergency ambulance transportation services throughout the Midwestern Iowa-Illinois region. Delivery of ambulance services is accomplished with a highly trained staff of approximately 150 (paid and volunteer) emergency medical services professionals, 19 ambulances, and five support vehicles.
